Growing up in the Borge family, Norm Borge often told his children stories of the sea. One favorite was the tale of "The Lone Gull". The belief was that when a fisherman passed away, his spirit would live on in a seagull, and the gull would watch over his family and friends.

The Lone GullCoffeehouse was started by Maryellen and Joe Borge in 2004 and is situated in the historic downtown of Gloucester, MA.
Their goal since the very beginning has been to create a space for all to feel welcome, connect to their community, and enjoy quality coffee.
Being right on Gloucester’s Main Street makes the Lone Gull the perfect place to stop in for a refreshing drink or delicious pastry while exploring the many wonderful shops and sights in the area.
